The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

Life has a way of changing plans and desires. My AAS 2-EET was my foundation for flight school as I had longed to be a commercial pilot. I honored Uncle Sam and the Army immediately after graduation and served my two plus years. When I returned to civilian life, the airline market was saturated with pilots. I took a job with General Electric in Lynchburg, VA and worked with two-way radios for three years. With little desire to continue in the engineering field, I began looking for a different career. I chose law enforcement and thoroughly enjoyed the career I had with the Lynchburg Police Department. I eventually got my BS in Sociology from Averett University in Danville, VA but my heart has always been loyal to Penn State and I will always be a true BLUE Nittany Lion. I had met my wife Deb at Penn State and we moved to Virginia in 1973. We've lived here since and we love it. Deb, finished her BS Degree in nursing at the University of Virginia and later got her Masters in Counseling from Lynchburg College here in Virginia. Both of our sons graduated from Virginia Tech which by-the-way reminds me of a miniature Penn State. Good schools all the way around but there's only one Penn State. I've since retired and now own three businesses which all relate to law enforcement. Deb and I have been married for 38 years; life has been good. Thanks PSU
